Malik Harris, the first ever German-American artist to spend a week on a Times Square billboard in New York City, is a singer-songwriter who combines organic pop, electronic influences and a mixture of rap and singing with deep lyrics and unconventional songwriting in his music. The 25-year-old multi-instrumentalist grew up being inspired by traditional songwriters like Tyler Joseph from twenty one pilots, the electronic sounds of Jack Garratt or the modern hip-hop styles of rappers like Macklemore or NF. Teaching himself how to play guitar, piano, drums and bass and combining that with his unique voice he has developed his very own modern pop style over the years.
Malik Harris was already able to demonstrate his extraordinary live qualities supporting artists such as James Blunt, Alex Clare, Jeremy Loops, Tom Odell, Walk Off the Earth or LP and stunned both press and audience with his likeable nature, his catchy songs and his unique way of performing completely alone on stage playing multiple instruments using his loop station and delivering an unforgettable experience.
Many of his very first releases like ‘Say The Name’, ‘Welcome To The Rumble’, ‘Home’ and ‘Bangin' On My Drum’ gained a lot of attention being immediately established in the German AirPlay Top100 and placing him among the most promising German newcomers, all before he released his debut album 'Anonymous Colonist' on August 13, 2021 which so far has amassed more than 500,000 Shazams, 80,000,000 streams worldwide and was followed by his sold-out first headliner tour in 2022.
Malik Harris represented Germany at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest with his song ‘Rockstars’ which turned out to be his biggest hit single yet, hitting Top10 in the German Single Charts, peaking at #4 on German Radio AirPlay, charting in several European countries and hitting #64 in the worldwide Shazam charts.
German broadcasting stations have officially listed Malik Harris on the German ‘New Music’ hotlist, a selection of 16 newcomer artists to watch.
